WHEN
CATHOLICS GO ON VACATION
Now
that the summer season is with us, please remember if your vacation takes you
outside the parish that we "never take a vacation from the Lord". You
can log on to www.Masstimes.org to
find a church where you can attend Mass anywhere in the world. Also, please
don't forget to send in your weekly envelopes if you will be away.
Donations for "FAMILY DAY" We are already accepting donations of bottled water
and can sodas for our Family Day. If you wish to cooperate in this way, bring
your donations at your convenience from Monday to Friday during office hours,
and once again, thank you for your generosity.

WELCOMING OUR LADY OF FATIMA
|
On the weekend of August 14th and 15th, we will welcome to St. Stephen Parish the
Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima at the 4:00 and 11:00 Masses. This
beautiful image of Our Blessed Lady will remain in our parish for one year, and families will have the opportunity to
take the statue to their homes each week and to spend the week with family
and friends praying for our parish, our country, our Church, and the world.
The statue will be
accompanied by books, prayer cards in English and Spanish, rosaries, scapulars,
DVDs, and other religious items for use by the host families. Everything but
the rosaries and scapulars must be returned with the statue. You will receive
further instructions at the time you pick up the statue.
Our Lady's statue will be on
display in the parish for the first week, and then it will be available for
host families to take it home with them, starting the weekend of August 21st
and 22nd. To sign up for the statue, you
must call Gloria at the Rectory and she will pass the information to Dennis
Glinnen. who is the coordinator for St. Stephen Parish.
Once your offer to host the statue has been accepted, you must pick it up at either the 4:00 or 11:00 Mass and then return it before the 4:00 Mass the following Saturday so that the next family may take the statue home. It is very important that the statue be returned prior to the 4:00 Mass.
Special Mass in Honor of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus ‑ On Saturday morning, July 31st, there will be a Special Mass at 8:00 a.m. to conclude the month of July, which is dedicated to the Most Precious Blood of Jesus. Those in attendance will receive a Most Precious Blood Scapular. We hope to see many of you for this Mass!

"But God said to him, 'You fool, this night your life will be
demanded of you; and the things you have prepared, to whom will they belong?'
Thus will it be for all who store up treasure for themselves but are not rich
in what matters to God." - Lk

Family Consecration Prayer
to the Immaculate Heart of
Mary
Most Blessed Virgin,
Immaculate Queen and our Mother Mary, refuge and consolation of all miserable
creatures, prostrate before your throne with our whole family, we choose you
for Our Lady, Mother and Advocate with God. We consecrate ourselves, with all
who belong to us, forever to your service and beseech you, O Mother of God, to
receive us into the number of your servants by taking us all under your
protection, helping us in life, and still more at the hour of death.
O Mother of Mercy, we appoint
you as Lady and Ruler of our whole house, of our relatives, of our interests,
and of all our affairs. Disdain not to take charge of them, dispose of all as
it pleases you. Bless us, then, and all our families, and do not permit that
any of us should offend your Son. Defend us in temptation, deliver us from
dangers, provide for us in our necessities, counsel us in our doubts, comfort
us in our afflictions, assist us in our infirmities, and especially in the
sorrows of death.
Never allow the Devil to
glory in having in his chains any of us who are now consecrated to you, but
grant that we may go to Heaven to thank you, and together with you to praise
and love Jesus our Redeemer for all eternity. Amen.
