Congratulations to Our Many First Communicants The Parish extends its congratulations and best wishes to the 64 children who received Jesus in Holy Communion for the first time on May 8th. Their names, as well as those who received Confirmation on April 23rd, can be found on the insert enclosed in this bulletin. We pray that these young people and their families will continue to participate in Holy Mass each weekend and to receive the spiritual help they need from the Holy Eucharist.
|
Reaching Out to Others ‑ We also offer congratulations to one of our First Communicants, Trebor Brzezicki, for his Christian charity in donating his hair to "Locks of Love;" which makes custom wigs for children who have lost their hair while undergoing treatment for such diseases as cancer. When his grandmother died from leukemia in 2008, after losing all her hair during chemotherapy, Trebor decided that as a tribute to his grandmother, he would allow his blond hair to grow past his shoulders so that he could eventually donate it to charity. Despite frequent teasing by other children, Trebor stuck to his guns until just before First Communion, when his locks were cut and he was given a buzz cut. He doesn't know who will receive the wig made from his hair, but he expressed the hope that "the cancer patient feels happy."

St. Vincent de Paul Society ‑ The members of our St. Vincent de Paul Society have expressed their thanks to the National Association of Letter Carriers for including our parish in their distribution of food on Mother's Day. The letter carriers picked up donated food while covering their mail routes and made it available to groups who can help those who are in need. Many thanks also to our volunteers and our "amigos from the Hispanic Community" who carried the food into the Rectory for sorting out and then stocking our Food Pantry.
Jesus
said to his disciples: "Thus it is written that the Christ would suffer
and rise from the dead on the third day. You are witnesses of these
things." - Lk 24:46, 48

MetroWest Free Clinic in
Sudbury
|
The Metrowest Free Medical Program offers free health care to anyone who doesn't have adequate health insurance, regardless of race, religion, or legal status. They are open most Tuesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. It is not necessary to make an appointment. Every week there are doctors available to see patients for general medical problems, and Ortho-pedists are there every week as well.
In addition to general medicine and orthopedics, there will be an asthma screening on May 25th; and the following questions may be useful: Do you have trouble breathing when you walk or do simple chores? Do you cough at night? Does your chest feel tight or do you ever have trouble taking a good deep breath? If the answer is "yes" to any of these questions, you may be one of the millions of people who have asthma. The clinic can help you find out if your breathing problem might be a symptom of asthma.
Other clinics during
the month of June are: General Medicine,
Orthopedics, and Psychiatry on June 8th, and General Medicine, Orthopedics, Diabetes, and Derma-tology on June
15th.
The Free Clinic is
located at 105 Hudson Road in Sudbury. Please call (508) 532-0739 for further
information.
